今年是皇后(Queen)合唱團主唱Freddie Mercury的65歲冥誕，天天用Google的人，應該都會對下面這段Google專為Freddie Mercury致敬，花了三個月才做成的Doodle有印象。
在Freddie Mercury過世後的二十年間，BASS手退休，剩下的兩位團員雖仍有表演，卻越來越少同台演出。不過無數的搖滾樂團、流行樂手、COPY團甚至是交響樂團不會忘掉他們，透過現場演出和專輯，各自向這組影響後世深遠的搖滾樂團致敬。
這些致敬表演有好有壞，不過壞到讓當事人看不下去的不少，於是原始團員之一的Roger Taylor就自己跳出來和美國的經紀公司合作，在北美舉辦選秀會Queen Extravaganza，目的是選出一班年輕人成立"官方認可的致敬團"，經過訓練之後，明年這組人馬會展開全世界巡演，也帶有一點接班的味道。
選秀會第一關要求參賽者錄影片上傳到選秀會的Youtube頻道，評審會選出幾個有潛力的人進入第二關的比賽，Roger Tylor會親自當評審。上傳的參賽者其實不太多，看的人也稀稀疏疏，一直到這位叫做Marc Martel的老兄出現...
Marc在上傳的Youtube上的自我介紹是 :
"某人: 有人說過你很像Queen的那位嗎? 我:從來沒有。"
這句話是非常臭屁的反話，他的聲音不但像，而且目前還沒聽過比他更像的。
Marc Martel本身其實也是樂團主唱，不過是福音樂團，團員都是自己的朋友，參賽的原因是老婆叫他報的。他喜歡的歌手除了Freddie Mercury是必然的外，George Michael也可以理解，比較有趣的是80年代的偶像街頭頑童(NKOTB)和該團的Jordan Knight也是他喜歡的歌手。
這段試鏡影片三天內點閱破百萬，目前頻道裡面所有的參賽者加起來都沒有比他多。跟他一樣是加拿大人的知名歌手Bryan Adams似乎跟他是舊識，在Twitter上跟Marc說"我昨天才跟Brian May(皇后的神級吉他手)提到你"，Marc的回覆是"如果是May向你提到我，我會更驚訝"。
仔細聽兩人還是有差異，Marc Martel聲線偏薄，Freddie Mercury聲線厚實、有彈性又充滿戲劇性，不過Freddie畢竟是百年難見一見的奇才，沒人能跟他比。
在Youtube上也找到Marc之前唱的Bohemian Rhapsody，雖然沒那麼像，但這畢竟是一首難度10的歌，能唱成這樣已經非常非常厲害了。第一關過後還有第二關，Marc光靠著人氣已經贏一半，如果沒什麼意外的話，明年致敬團巡演的主唱很可能就是他了。
